Vulnerability Details: CSRF/SQL Injection Vulnerability in Responsive Filterable Portfolio

One of the changelog entries for the latest version of Responsive Filterable Portfolio is “Improve security”. Looking at the changes made in that version we found in various places what could be described simply as security improvements occurring, principally usage of better sanitization functions. We noticed a few places where it looked like SQL injection vulnerabilities might have been fixed and confirmed that one of them was that and was exploitable through cross-site request forgery (CSRF).

This post provides insights on a vulnerability in the WordPress plugin Responsive Filterable Portfolio not discovered by us, where the discoverer hadn't provided the details needed for us to confirm the vulnerability while we were adding it to the data set for our service, so the rest of its contents are limited to subscribers of our service.
